Welcoming babies into this world can be the most magical experience we as humans can share with each other. Babies know how to turn even the smallest moments into magical and joyful ones. When we hold a child in our arms, we can feel unconditional love and the endless possibilities that lie ahead. However, as magical as it is to have a child, it is not easy.
A couple in India struggled for years to have a baby, so she and her husband decided to look into IVF treatment in hopes of finally conceiving a baby. Regardless of cost. This woman’s name is Daljinder, and she is seventy-two years old.
Daljinder and her husband have been married for over fifty years, and trying over and over again, they just couldn’t convey what was missing. So they started studying IVF methods at the National Fertility and Test Tube Baby Center in Hisar. The clinic was skeptical at first, but Daljinder was persistent. To qualify, she had to undergo extensive examinations, tests, and several doctors once deemed her healthy enough to be able to undergo IVF rounds. The price of Daljinder’s persistence cost the couple 1 million rupees, the equivalent of about US$12,000. Daljinder states in the video what she thinks about her decision:
“Money doesn’t matter to me. I wanted my own child at all costs, and today I am a mother.”
But her perseverance and expense were worth the wait when the couple had a son, Armand.
“We cannot thank God and our doctor for blessing us with the birth of a boy.”
Daljinder, who gave birth to Arman at the age of 72, was one of the oldest primiparous mothers in the world!
Daljinder gave birth to a boy naturally and is even breastfeeding him. Although Daljinder admitted that meeting this little boy was more difficult than she expected, the parents do not regret anything. While it can be overwhelming to magically welcome a new baby into the world, for this couple, they also welcomed tons of media to congratulate the new parents. She declares
“Arman is like a celebrity. He called all the media to our house, like that political party in Delhi.”
