The View’s Joy Behar said she had “so much in common” with Tucker Carlson this week, which gives new meaning and new imagery to the phrase “when pigs fly.”
Behar made the surprise announcement on Wednesday’s taping of “The View” as she referenced exposed text messages made by Carlson during Fox News’ lawsuit from Dominion Voting Systems.
During the segment, Behar cherry-picked samples from Carlson’s private messages, since made public, which suggested a strong personal disliking of former president Donald Trump. The first message she read came from a text sent on January 4th, 2021.
“‘There isn’t really an upside to Trump. There’s no upside, we’re very, very close to being able to ignore him. I truly can’t wait, I actually ‘hate him passionately.’ Now you’d think those are my words, those are not my words. Those are Tucker Carlson’s words! Yes, okay? That’s Tucker … I didn’t realize I had so much in common with Tucker,” Behar said.
“Truthfully,” she continued. “I don’t even hate Trump passionately. I hate him dispassionately.”
As it happens, the text messages were public just as Carlson aired some of the most dramatic footage seen on cable news in years. A few weeks ago, he was given access to over 40,000 hours of security footage from House Speaker Kevin McCarthy from the events of January 6th, and in a few days’ time has done a nice job spoiling the narrative crafted by Democrats and the media over the past two years.
And if we’re being honest, if Joy Behar were a real person with real human emotions, she’d realize she has a lot in common with Carlson. The two undoubtedly value their family, friends, their careers, and have other aspirations in life. At times they go about it much differently – Behar being afflicted with TDS doesn’t help – but at the end of the day they share a lot of things in common.
That might be a charitable view of Behar, and perhaps a more accurate portrayal of the two is that the only thing they have in common is being on television, as the Daily Caller tweeted.
As it relates to Carlon’s bombshell reporting, the machine doesn’t like it at all. Just as Behar attempted to throw him under the bus for not liking a president on a personal level, both Democrat and Republican leaders also gave statements in reaction to the footage being released each night.
“To say January 6 was not violent is a lie, a lie pure and simple. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a prime-time cable news anchor manipulate his viewers the way Mr. Carlson did last night. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an anchor treat the American people and American democracy with such disdain,” Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said on the Senate floor. He continued by pleading with Fox to essentially bar Carlson from continuing his coverage.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell was no better. “Clearly the chief of the Capitol Police, in my view, correctly described what most of us witnessed firsthand on January 6,” he told reporters. “It was a mistake, in my view, for Fox News to depict this in a way that’s completely at variance with what our chief law enforcement official here at the Capitol thinks.”
In response, Tucker Carlson rightly called out their panic over the exposure of unseen video that runs counter to the narrative presented to Americans.
“What you’re seeing is hysteria,” he said on his program. “Those videos touch a nerve because they’re a threat to the lies that Chuck Schumer has been telling for the last 26 months.”

By now, most readers will have heard that Carlson’s personal views of the former president are not always kind. But that doesn’t detract from what he does each and every night exposing the Regime’s corruption. That’s certainly more than Behar can say.
Complicating matters is that Carlson doesn’t seem to really care about personality’s when it comes to politics; he cares about truth. Despite whatever personal feelings he has, he presents the facts fair and balanced. That might explain why he had Trump’s election lawyer Sidney Powell on his show shortly after the 2020 presidential election, made her look like a fool by simply asking questions, and just a few days later everyone watched as the president sacked her.
