Even Superman can’t save California.
Dean Cain, star of “Lois and Clark,” recently revealed that he has abandoned the left coast for a multitude of reasons directly related to California’s bad policies and ineffective leadership.
Like so many stars and regular people before him, Cain is fed up with crime, homelessness, and high taxes, which are all hallmarks of the formerly great state of California.
The conservative-leaning Cain had this to say: “I love California. It’s the most beautiful state. Everything’s wonderful about it except for the policies. The policies are just terrible. The fiscal policies, the soft-on-crime policies, the homelessness policies,”
At a certain point, nothing is beautiful enough to put up with the ever-present risk of being robbed or assaulted. Even Superman has had enough of the crime.

California is one of several states with numerous Soros-funded District Attorneys. Los Angeles and San Francisco have become bastions of crime and lawlessness because of it. Why would someone like Cain, who is recognizable, want to risk his life or his family?
Cain continued: “The things that our leaders in California have been doing have driven out anybody who can really afford to get out. People are flocking out of there in droves.”
Dean Cain is blessed that he has the means to leave. He recently sold his Malibu home for $6.25 million and headed to Las Vegas to establish a new “fortress of solitude.” Or at least leave behind the headaches of California.
Many don’t have the means to head to higher ground, and they are left stuck with high taxes, traffic, crime, and needless regulation and overreach that California state government is renowned for.
Cain talks about the move to Vegas: “I’ve been here for two weeks now, and I can tell you, [it’s a] smart move… my son is ten times happier here in Las Vegas. If I wanted to do anything out of Malibu, it took me 45 minutes to an hour to get anywhere. Here, the longest I’m driving is 20 minutes.”
Cain is the latest in a series of Hollywood stars to leave. Mark Wahlberg, Scott Baio, Chris Hemsworth, Rob Schneider, Blake Shelton, Joe Rogan, Matthew McConaughey, Sandra Bullock, and Ryan Reynolds are just a few of the big-name stars that have given up on California changing anytime soon.
It isn’t just stars running away. California is bleeding businesses at an alarming rate. Tesla, Charles Schwab, Oracle, Pabst Brewing, The Daily Wire, and the Joe Rogan Experience are just a few of the hundreds of companies to pack up and head to Texas, Nevada, Tennessee, or anywhere else where the state government isn’t always in their pockets.
Las Vegas is an especially attractive destination for Hollywood transplants. Mark Wahlberg has talked openly of his desire to turn Vegas into a new version of Hollywood, and with zero state income tax and the prospect of being able to work there as well, it’s small wonder Cain chose Vegas.
Cain concluded: “Obviously, Mark Wahlberg is a huge star in and drives a huge number of dollars to the films that he does. Bless him for it. I think he’s done something very smart for his family,” he said.
“Mark did a smart thing, and, hopefully, I believe I’ve done a very, very smart thing.”
Time will tell, of course, but for the foreseeable future, California is going to continue its downward spiral, and those who can leave will.
