Whoopi Goldberg couldn’t help but burst into laughter when Joy Behar dropped a bombshell revelation about her past on The View. Behar, one of the original cohosts of the iconic show, spilled the beans on how she was “happy” to be shown the door back in 2013.

As the Hot Topics sizzled on the show, Behar, a veteran who’s been there since the beginning with Barbara Walters in 1997, revisited a 2022 chat with Time magazine where she openly expressed joy over her departure from the talk-show circus.

“I’ve always believed in having friends at work, and if there are no friends around, I won’t stick around,” Behar spilled. “So, when I got fired from this show last time, people asked, ‘Were you okay with that?’ And guess what? I was happy! All my pals had already bid farewell, so why stay? It’s as simple as that.”

Whoopi, a mainstay on The View when Behar made her exit, couldn’t believe it. “Really? All your friends left?” she asked, leaving the audience in speechless silence.

The Oscar-winning comedian then took the stage with a mock quivering lip and pretended to cry. “No worries, folks, I’m good,” she said.

“You had just joined, and my backstage friends were long gone. And I’m not one to work without friends,” Behar clarified, with Goldberg chiming in that their friendship goes way back and she was just pulling her friend’s leg.

The dynamic duo had been the face of The View for a considerable time before Behar’s initial departure in 2013. The 80-year-old cohost made a triumphant return in 2015, juggling two solo talk shows on other networks: The Joy Behar Show, running from 2009 to 2011, and Joy Behar: Say Anything! in 2012.

Behar’s opinions often ruffle feathers among conservative viewers, but she made it clear on the latest broadcast that she’s not budging an inch.

“Joe Biden and I are cut from the same fabric. Do you think I can’t handle my job for the next four years? Of course, I can,” Behar confidently declared, earning applause from the audience. “As for the haters, they can find something else to do, because I’m not vacating this seat anytime soon.”

In the ever-evolving world of The View, it seems like the drama and camaraderie continue to take center stage, keeping fans hooked on the rollercoaster of daytime talk.
