Government Faces Possible Shutdown as Funding Deadline Approaches

As a key funding deadline approaches, former President Donald Trump has cautioned that a government shutdown could occur if a temporary spending bill is not passed this week.

The warning comes after House Speaker Mike Johnson introduced a short-term funding measure in December to keep government operations running. This bill, known as a Continuing Resolution (CR), provided funding until March 14.

However, without a new agreement in place before that date, many federal workers could face temporary work stoppages and missed paychecks.

Lawmakers are now working to pass another resolution to ensure continued funding and prevent disruptions to government services. A vote on the matter is scheduled to take place on March 11.
