Federal agencies are investigating a now-deleted tweet by former FBI Director James Comey that many interpreted as a veiled threat against former President Donald Trump.
Comey posted an image of seashells arranged as “86 47″—slang interpreted as “kill the 47th president.”
FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed coordination with the Secret Service. Comey later claimed ignorance of the meaning.

Trump and other officials, including Tulsi Gabbard and DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, condemned the post, calling it a dangerous, coded message. Critics argue that Comey, with his law enforcement background, knew the implications of such language.
An investigation is ongoing.
