The Michigan native, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, has strong opinions about politics and the Hollywood culture, which he expresses with an \u201cin your face\u201d attitude that has been called too abrasive and too extreme by his detractors.<\/p>\n<p>Carlson wanted to give Kid Rock an opportunity to address one of those \u201ctoo extreme\u201d incidents that captured headlines around the country when the controversial rocker lashed out at Oprah Winfrey. The video of the event went viral on TMZ, showing an admittedly intoxicated Kid Rock on stage at a Nashville honky tonk, yelling, \u201cF*ck Oprah Winfrey,\u201d and, \u201cF*ck Joy Behar!\u201d He was accused of raclsm after his anti-Oprah rant, even though his son is half African-American.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1713 ls-is-cached lazyloaded\" src=\"https:\/\/fgnewstime.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/composite_16546381646791.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-src=\"https:\/\/fgnewstime.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/composite_16546381646791.jpg\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>According to Daily Caller, Carlson questioned Kid Rock on his anti-Oprah rant during an episode in which the Fox News host received a tour of Kid Rock\u2019s Nashville Ranch. \u201cA drunk man\u2019s words are a sober man\u2019s thoughts,\u201d Kid Rock told Carlson about the Oprah rant. \u201cI own what I said and I won\u2019t apologize to anybody. I\u2019m not an Oprah Winfrey fan.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The rocker continued to explain the incident to Carlson. \u201cSo, I got drunk and the next thing I\u2019m on the stage and saying like \u2018f*ck Oprah, suck my d*ck sideways!\u2019\u201d Kid Rock recalled. \u201cThe f*cked up part is I was trying to go after Kathy Griffin, you know, for holding up Trump\u2019s head but I\u2019m so out of it I\u2019m like \u2018f*ck Kathy Lee Gifford.\u2019 When it comes back on TMZ or whatever a few weeks later, I\u2019m like \u2018oh man, I like Kathy Lee Gifford.\u2019 We\u2019ve been kind of friendly throughout the years.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Carlson also asked the Michigan rocker why he is immune to those who try and \u201ccancel\u201d him for his politics and controversial statements. \u201cI don\u2019t give a f**k, and I\u2019m not in bed with any big corporate things,\u201d Kid Rock said. \u201cAt the end of the day, there\u2019s nobody I\u2019m beholden to. No record companies. No corporate interests. No nothing. You can\u2019t cancel me. I love it when they try.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kid Rock\u2019s feelings toward Joy Behar also made headlines in a separate incident when he tripped the censors during an interview on Fox News with Steve Doocy. True to his word, the Grammy-nominated singer stood by the remarks he made about the ABC talk show host when Doocy asked him about \u201cpolitical correctness.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople need to calm down, get a little less politically correct,\u201d Kid Rock said to Steve Doocy. \u201cAnd I would say you know, love everybody except I\u2019d say screw that Joy Behar b*tch. Everybody but that.\u201d Of course, Kid Rock calling Joy Behar the \u201cB-word\u201d on live TV caused quite a commotion with the Fox News team and Doocy immediately apologized to the viewers.<\/p>\n<p>However, the platinum artist stuck to his guns while dialing back some of the content after Doocy asked, \u201cYou do apologize for that language, right?\u201d Kid Rock responded by declaring, \u201cI did apologize for the language. Not the sentiment.\u201d In other words, the Michigan musician is seemingly saying, \u201csorry, not sorry.\u201d He apologized for using the \u201cB-word\u201d on live TV, but not for thinking Joy Behar is one.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1714 ls-is-cached lazyloaded\" src=\"https:\/\/fgnewstime.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/composite_16546371748880.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-src=\"https:\/\/fgnewstime.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/composite_16546371748880.jpg\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>During his interview with Tucker Carlson, Kid Rock had been promoting a single he dropped in the summer of 2021, We the People, which caused quite a reaction with the mainstream media. For example, Rolling Stone also blasted the Trump-supporting rocker for opening up his concerts with a message from the former president. \u201cOver the past year Rock \u2014 perhaps Trump\u2019s biggest supporter in the music world \u2014 has been floating in the jetsam of the one-term presidency, making music that would only appeal to Trump-loving Rock fans,\u201d Rolling Stone reported.<\/p>\n<p>As far as the message from former President Donald Trump that opens Rock\u2019s concerts, one would find it hard to find the controversy. \u201cHello, everyone. I love you all. I know you\u2019re having a great time at the Kid Rock concert tonight,\u201d Trump says. \u201cQuite frankly, he\u2019s amazing. All of you in attendance are truly the backbone of our great country.
