County music star John Rich, of \u201cBig and Rich\u201d fame, lashed out at his industry this week.![](\"https:\/\/newslitee.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/boy-who-puts-up-ads-to-help-older-neighbor-finds-envelope-full-of-money-on-his-doorstep-story-of-the-day-642d937f8764.jpg\")
\nIn an interview with \u201cJust the News, No Noise\u201d on Thursday, he discussed his recent hit single \u201cProgress\u201d which he made and released without having a major record deal because he could not find one due to his conservative values and beliefs.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t have the backing of the country music industry really much anymore. And that\u2019s okay. I would rather have my freedom of speech than their approval any day of the week,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWithin six hours of \u2018Progress\u2019 being released on those two platforms, it was the number one song in the world,\u201d Rich said regarding its release on Truth Social and Rumble.<\/p>\n
\u201cI decided to not use Twitter, not use Facebook, and not use YouTube, because one of the lines in the song says, \u2018They shut down our voices,\u2019\u201d Rich explained. \u201cAnd by \u2018they,\u2019 I mean those platforms like YouTube, Twitter and Facebook.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to Rich, he wrote the song based on all of his frustrations of what has been happening in the country for the past two years, Just the News reported.<\/p>\n
\u201cI would not call that gas price progress,\u201d Rich said. \u201cI would not call the grocery prices progress. I would not call fentanyl in all of our neighborhoods progress. I would not call the border being wide open progress.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIf that\u2019s progress, they can stick it where the sun don\u2019t shine \u2014 which is a really nice PG way of saying you know what,\u201d Rich continued.<\/p>\n
