\nElon Musk is officially the owner of the social media giant Twitter. The deal was done on Thursday and Musk immediately fired the CEO and CFO of the company, the Wall Street Journal reported.
\nMr. Musk fired Chief Executive Parag Agrawal and Chief Financial Officer Ned Segal after the deal closed, the people said. Spokespeople for Twitter didn\u2019t comment.\u00a0<\/em>It wasn\u2019t immediately clear who would step into those top positions. CNBC previously reported the firings.\u00a0<\/em>Mr. Musk also fired Vijaya Gadde, Twitter\u2019s top legal and policy executive, and Sean Edgett, general counsel.<\/em><\/p>\n

Now, a new salacious story from Business Insider states Musk and Ghislaine Maxwell, who was sentenced to 20 years in prison after being found guilty of sex-trafficking girls for Jeffrey Epstein, had at least one conversation at an event in 2014.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe photo was taken in 2014 at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in California, but it didn\u2019t make a splash on social media until 2020 when Musk took to Twitter to say he didn\u2019t know Maxwell \u2018at all.\u2019 The staffer, who chose to remain anonymous due to potential repercussions, said the pair also discussed aliens and Musk brought up his theory that reality could be a simulation. The photo of the billionaire alongside Maxwell, a known associate of Jeffrey Epstein, was widely shared on Twitter earlier this year as well after the billionaire initially offered to buy Twitter for $44 billion in April,\u201d BI reported.<\/p>\n

\nCoincidentally, the image showed up on Twitter again this week, but the social media outlet attached a new \u201ccontext\u201d note as part of Twitter\u2019s new feature Birdwatch, which aims to curb misinformation on the platform.
\n\u201cShe photo-bombed me once at a Vanity Fair party several years ago,\u201d he tweeted in July 2020. \u201cReal question is why VF invited her in the first place.\u201d<\/p>\n

A tweet featuring the photo had a note at the bottom that said: \u201cThe photo of Musk and Maxwell was captured at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in 2014. It\u2019s the only picture of the pair. There\u2019s no photo evidence that suggests they conversed. Musk later responded about the picture and said he didn\u2019t know Maxwell, and that she \u2018photobombed\u2019 him.\u201d<\/p>\n

A Vanity Fair staffer who was close to Maxwell and Musk at the party said that the two had engaged in some rather strange conversation, with Maxwell asking Musk whether it was possible to remove oneself from the internet, and urging Musk to destroy it.https:\/\/t.co\/MiDZG2Wbv3<\/p>\n

\nInterestingly enough, Musk went viral a few months ago when he fired a warning shot at friends and associates of Epstein.<\/p>\n

Musk\u2019s remarks came as Epstein\u2019s confidante and fixer, Maxwell, will likely spend decades in prison.<\/p>\n

However, one big thing remains:<\/p>\n

What about Jeffrey Epstein\u2019s clients and friends. We know he hung out with high-powered wealthy men like Bill Clinton and Bill Gates.<\/em><\/p>\n

Those two and others like Wall Street titan Leon Black are all saying they had no idea what Jeffrey Epstein was doing and regret giving him the credibility that came with meeting them.<\/em><\/p>\n

But is that believable?<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cAt the time, I didn\u2019t realize that by having those meetings it would be seen as giving him credibility. You\u2019re almost saying, \u2018I forgive that type of behavior,\u2019 or something. So clearly the way it\u2019s seen, I made a huge mistake not understanding that,\u201d Microsoft founder and CEO Bill Gates said recently.<\/p>\n

His ex-wife, however, did not buy that excuse, talking to CBS\u2019 Gayle King some weeks ago about their divorce: \u201cIt was many things. But I did not like that he\u2019d had meetings with Jeffrey Epstein. I made that clear to him.\u201d<\/p>\n

She went on to say she met Epstein \u201cexactly one time because I wanted to see who this man was. And I regretted it from the second I stepped in the door. He was abhorrent. He was evil personified.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had nightmares about it afterward. So my heart breaks for these young women.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now, Musk \u2014 who is now under investigation by the Biden administration \u2014 appears to be wondering why Epstein, who reportedly hung himself in lock-up after his arrest \u2014 and Ghislaine are the only ones being punished since there appear to be many others who were involved in their \u2018activities,\u2019 according to various reports.<\/p>\n

A Twitter user asked Musk recently: \u201cIt says it all that we heard more about Will Smith slapping Chris Rock than we heard about Ghislaine Maxwell\u2019s trial. It is also \u2018interesting\u2019 that the account tracking Ghislaine Maxwell\u2019s trial got banned when it gained traction.\u201d<\/p>\n

Musk responded: \u201cWhere is their \u2018client\u2019 list? Shouldn\u2019t at least one of them go down?\u201d<\/p>\n
