Sally Field appeared to apologize for being white during the SAG Awards on Sunday night, and Megyn Kelly wasn\u2019t having it.<\/p>\n

Megyn Kelly is firing back at the Hollywood star Sally Field after the two-time Oscar-winner appeared to apologize for being white while accepting a lifetime achievement award from the Screen Actors Guild on Sunday night.<\/p>\n

Kelly Torches Field For Woke Speech\/ \u201cI was a little White girl with a pug nose born in Pasadena, California,\u201d Field said while onstage at the SAG Awards. \u201cAnd when I look around this room tonight, I know my fight, as hard as it was, was lightweight compared to some of yours. I thank you. And I applaud you.\u201d<\/p>\n

This didn\u2019t sit well with Kelly, who described Field\u2019s speech as being \u201cpathetic\u201d and \u201cbaloney.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s very sorry about one thing and that appears to be the fact that she\u2019s White,\u201d she said, later adding, \u201cNews flash, White girls in America don\u2019t have any troubles that are worth remembering when you\u2019re in front of a group that has a lot of people of color.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kelly Doubles Down\/ Not stopping there, Kelly proceeded to double down by suggesting that Field could have given a powerful speech if she\u2019d talked about what it was like to rise to fame in the Hollywood of the 1960s.<\/p>\n

\u201cSally Field could get up there and say \u2018I came up in the industry where the casting couch \u2026 was alive and well. That\u2019s why we produced people like Harvey Weinstein,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Kelly then said that Field could have stayed \u201ctrue to her personality\u201d by saying, \u201cToo many women from Marilyn Monroe forward have had to be subjected to that nonsense in order to get on the big screen. So I\u2019m grateful for the opportunities that I created for myself and I nailed them. I did really well and I feel good about it.\u201d Unfortunately, Field did the exact opposite and went the woke route.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s basically got to be like \u2018I\u2019m the little White girl from Pasadena and I basically suffered nothing like you people did here in this room,\u2019\u201d Kelly concluded. \u201cHow does she know? It\u2019s so diminishing to people of color who are in the room. She just assumes that they are all oppressed? Why should she assume that they\u2019ve all had it so bad?\u201d<\/p>\n

Adam Carrolla Responds\/ The comedian Adam Carolla, who was also a guest on Kelly\u2019s show, responded by lamenting that Hollywood has gone so woke that actors feel pressure to say radically liberal things in order to get jobs.<\/p>\n

\u201cActors need employment, and as we\u2019ve seen over the last few years, people will cancel anybody, and they\u2019ll never come back,\u201d Carolla said. \u201cSo, giving speeches about systemic racism makes you more employable.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kelly concluded by saying that award show speeches like the one that Field gave need to end completely.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe [Field] can help by stopping the continuation of dividing us all so much,\u201d Kelly said. \u201cCould you just shut up? Just f***ing say thank you, honestly.\u201d<\/p>\n
