Two of my favourite players growing up. Surely he gets a knighthood at some point?!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>needs a friend like Kevin Sinfield. What an absolute hero! Doing Leeds proud.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">This is beautiful, so much love, brothers in arms \ud83d\udc9b <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/RNOPej9qdd\">https:\/\/t.co\/RNOPej9qdd<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Gulval School Headteacher (@gulvalschool) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/gulvalschool\/status\/1657814394779193346?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 14, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Burrow spent his entire 16-year professional career with Leeds Rhinos in the Super League but retired in 2017 and was diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND).<\/p>\n<p>Two years later, he received an MBE for raising money and awareness of the condition.<\/p>\n<p>Sinfield revealed that the team\u2019s fundraising efforts for the inaugural Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon had raised over \u00a33 million (AUD $5.6 million) for numerous charities.<\/p>\n<p>Sinfield began raising money shortly after his friend was diagnosed.<\/p>\n<p>In 2020, he ran seven marathons in a week, which ended up raising millions.<\/p>\n<p>The coach told The Guardian before the Leeds Marathon that while his efforts will raise even more funds, he looks forward to spending more time with Burrow while pushing him on track.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-282\" src=\"https:\/\/blog24times.info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/meqcw-1-204x300.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"257\" height=\"378\" \/><br \/>\nCredit: PA Images \/ Alamy Stock Photo<br \/>\n\u201cIt\u2019s the time together I\u2019m looking forward to,\u201d he told the outlet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe had some really funny moments during the Leeds 10k when we did a trial run in anticipation for this and while it\u2019s difficult for him to communicate, I know when he\u2019s laughing, and you can see it. We\u2019ll have some fun, I promise you that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sinfield admitted his notable cause initially began as a \u2018mate running for another mate\u2019; however, it has now evolved into something bigger.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe money is great but most importantly, it provides hope,\u201d Sinfield said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople have been left alone with MND in the past, ashamed to come out of their homes. Now, they can live their lives and have hope that there could be drugs that can slow this down, and one day there will be a cure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe money raised gives guys far smarter than me a chance to do their job.
