The NHL has finally wised up and taken the side of its own fans. Unlike the NBA, NFL, and NASCAR, all of which decided to go woke, the NHL decided to stick to its roots and respect the bread and butter.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re not going the way of Bud Light, Target, or the NFL,\u201d said League Commissioner Joe Barron, \u201cwe intend to cater to our fanbase, and our fanbase doesn\u2019t want Nike.\u201d<\/p>\n
Nike Spokesperson Sandy Batt said the company understands the league\u2019s position, then immediately labeled the action \u201cinherently divisive and disrespectful to the LGBTQ+ community.\u201d<\/p>\n
Barron says the NHL will either go back to Adidas or move on to another name brand. \u201cAnything that isn\u2019t woke,\u201d he said, \u201cthat fad should be ending sometime in the next two to three years.\u201d<\/p>\n
Nike is still reeling from Michael Jordan\u2019s departure recently, after the long-time board member and patent-holder of the Nike Air anti-gravity secrets ended his partnership and moved on. \u201cI just can\u2019t,\u201d he said at the time to a source who may or may not actually exist, \u201cwe have different values.\u201d<\/p>\n
Nike stock is down 84 on the blue-chip and 41 with 620 in Tokyo. \u201cThose numbers are unsustainable,\u201d said a guy standing in the rain watching on a tv in a department store window, \u201cthey\u2019re ruining what I built.\u201d<\/p>\n
