Luna (R-FL) confirmed that the Republican-controlled House will be voting to censure and potentially fine Democrat Adam Schiff (D-CA). The decision comes after months of heightened political tension and controversy surrounding Schiff\u2019s conduct.<\/p>\n<p>Luna, an up-and-coming conservative figure, stated that Schiff will \u201cgo down as a liar,\u201d amplifying the message of accountability that the GOP has been pushing in recent times.<\/p>\n<p>During the interview, Luna provided details about the upcoming vote and reaffirmed the backing of the GOP leadership.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo my knowledge, tomorrow we will be taking the vote to censure him and potentially fine him,\u201d Luna stated. She then added that the vote will take place tomorrow night and that the bill is currently being worked on. Allegations against Schiff for spreading \u201cfalse narratives\u201d during the Trump-Russia investigation. Luna and many of her fellow Republicans are vocal in their belief that lawmakers should face consequences for their actions during the investigation, particularly in light of the\u00a0Durham report\u2019s findings.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, the Florida congresswoman\u00a0filed a motion\u00a0to censure, condemn and impose a $16 million fine on Schiff for allegedly lying to the American people about the investigation. The move came not long after the Durham report confirmed that the FBI opened the Trump-Russia investigation without any significant evidence to back claims of collusion.<\/p>\n<p>Schiff, however, while serving as House Judiciary chair, repeatedly claimed that he had seen exclusive evidence proving collusion between Trump and Russian intelligence agencies. \u00a0\u201cI don\u2019t want to go into specifics, but I will say that there is evidence that is not circumstantial. But as I\u2019ve said all along, there\u2019s plenty of evidence of collusion,\u201d the California congressman\u00a0told\u00a0Meet The Press\u00a0in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will speak to Adam Schiff. Maria, I have a privileged resolution that I\u2019m bringing to the floor, and we are going to fine that man 16 million dollars for using his position to lie to the American people, and ultimately push something that not only destroyed our country, but ripped us apart and I believe, maybe even permanently damaged foreign relations,\u201d the freshman congresswoman told Fox News host Maria Bartiromo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is a criminal\u2026 and Adam Schiff; you will be held accountable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She went on to reference Schiff\u2019s claims of seeing a \u201csmoking gun\u201d that never materialized. \u201cAnd yet, he was privileged to information that not even I or many of my colleagues would be able to see,\u201d Luna went on to say. \u201cHe used that position.
