Citing instances of violence meted out to women who dare to defy what she called the \u201ctrans lobby that means to deprive women of their spaces and rights,\u201d podcast host Megyn Kelly said on Friday that she is done using preferred pronouns.<\/p>\n
During her\u00a0podcast<\/a>, she explained that for years she never saw harm in using whatever pronouns another person wanted.<\/p>\n Then she touched on the case of \u00a0Kellie-Jay Keen Minshull, who was doused with tomato juice and pelted by crowds during a visit to New Zealand, where she was\u00a0speaking out<\/a>\u00a0about the transgender movement\u2019s negative impact on women, according to the\u00a0New York Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n Kelly, a catch in her voice and tears in her eyes, then explained that she realized, \u201cthere is the harm. There\u2019s the harm.\u201d<\/p>\n Kelly recounted her history in the pronoun wars.<\/p>\n \u201cI was an early proponent of using preferred pronouns as far back as the early 2000s. Of saying \u2018she\u2019 when I knew the truth was \u2018he.\u2019 It seemed harmless, and I had no wish to cause offense. Trans people were tortured enough, it seemed to me, by nature of their dysphoria and society\u2019s disdain for them in general. So I complied. I went along with it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n \u201cI didn\u2019t see the harm,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
