The team boasted a 61-1 record over the season and finished the year on a 53-game winning streak.<\/p>\n<p>Even after all of that on-field success, the team never wavered in their faith, as they said in response to this question by an ESPN reporter.\u00a0<em>\u201cYou talked about keeping the joy of the game, but I\u2019m curious, it\u2019s a long season, right? And you guys have had the target on your back the entire time. How do you handle the unique pressure that comes with that? How do you keep the joy for so long when anxiety seems like a thing that could very easily set in?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Wow. ESPN wasn\u2019t ready for this answer from the Oklahoma softball team. Thankfully we\u2019ve had a lot of success this year, but if it was the other way around, joy from the Lord is the only thing that can keep you embracing those memories, moments, friendships.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>She continued, describing that the only way to maintain a positive outlook in a sport like softball is to stay strong in your faith.\u00a0<em>\u201cThat\u2019s really the only answer to that because there\u2019s no other way that softball can bring you that because of how much failure comes in it and just how much of a rollercoaster the game can be.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Jayda Coleman then took a turn on the mic, explaining that even during the best times, success tastes so much sweeter when you achieve it with God in your heart. She said,\u00a0<em>\u201c1000% agree with Grace Lyons\u2026 (after winning the national championship my freshman year,) I didn\u2019t know what to do the next day. I didn\u2019t feel filled, and I had to find Christ in that.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>She added that winning is never all that matters when one loves the Lord.\u00a0<em>\u201cYes obviously we\u2019ve worked our butts off to be here, and we want to win, but it\u2019s not the end of the world because our life is in Christ, and that\u2019s all that matters.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Lastly, Alyssa Brito brought it home, saying,\u00a0<em>\u201cWe have an eternity of joy with our Father, and I\u2019m so excited about that.
