Proposes $16 Million Fine Against Adam Schiff For Role In Trump \u2018Witch Hunt\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>GOP Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) has introduced legislation aimed at fining Democratic Representative Adam Schiff a staggering $16 million for his role in the Democrats\u2019 first Trump impeachment witch hunt. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/trendingpoliticsnews.com\/watch-rep-luna-says-house-will-vote-to-censure-and-fine-adam-schiff-hes-gonna-go-down-as-a-liar\/\">legislation<\/a>\u00a0accuses Schiff of acting \u201cdishonorably on many other occasions,\u201d claiming that he falsely denied his staff\u2019s coordination with a whistleblower.<\/p>\n<p>The whistleblower according to Luna, was instrumental in launching the first impeachment of President Trump. Luna also cited an incident from a House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) hearing on September 26, 2019, when Schiff allegedly recited a \u201cfalse concocted rendition\u201d of a phone call between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-7\"><\/div>\n<p>The GOP Rep. further contended that Schiff exploited his position on the HPSCI to encourage and excuse \u201cabusive intelligence investigations\u201d of Americans for political purposes.<\/p>\n<p>Schiff is also accused of leveraging his position and access to sensitive information to instigate a \u201cfraudulently based investigation,\u201d which he then purportedly used to boost his political standing and raise funds.<\/p>\n<p>WATCH:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Anna Paulina Luna introduces a resolution to fine Adam Schiff $16 million for his role in the Trump witch hunt. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/IVHtRUOV7T\">pic.twitter.com\/IVHtRUOV7T<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Citizen Free Press (@CitizenFreePres) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CitizenFreePres\/status\/1668659852963610624?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 13, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The legislation proposes that Schiff be fined $16 million, half of the alleged cost borne by taxpayers, as a result of an investigation conducted by the Committee on Ethics. This committee, as per the legislation, determined that Schiff lied, made misrepresentations, and abused sensitive information.<\/p>\n<p>Luna and many of her fellow Republicans have been vocal in their belief that Schiff should face consequences for his actions during the investigation. Schiff, a long-serving Democrat known for his outspoken criticism of the Trump administration, has often been a target of Republican ire.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, Luna (R-FL)\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/trendingpoliticsnews.com\/hes-a-criminal-rep-anna-paulina-luna-vows-to-hold-adam-schiff-accountable-cmc\/\">discussed<\/a>\u00a0the House Oversight Committee\u2019s ongoing efforts to hold former House Judiciary Committee chair Adam Schiff (D-CA) accountable for lying about the Trump-Russia investigation during an appearance on Fox News\u2019\u00a0<em>Sunday Morning Futures<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, the Florida congresswoman\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/trendingpoliticsnews.com\/breaking-rep-anna-paulina-luna-introduces-resolution-to-remove-adam-schiff-from-congress-cmc\/\">filed the motion<\/a>\u00a0to censure, condemn and impose a $16 million fine on Schiff. The move came not long after the Durham report confirmed that the FBI opened the Trump-Russia investigation without any significant evidence to back claims of collusion.<\/p>\n<p>Schiff, however, while serving as House Judiciary chair, repeatedly claimed that he had seen exclusive evidence proving collusion between Trump and Russian intelligence agencies. \u00a0\u201cI don\u2019t want to go into specifics, but I will say that there is evidence that is not circumstantial. But as I\u2019ve said all along, there\u2019s plenty of evidence of collusion,\u201d the California congressman\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/adam-schiff-repeatedly-claimed-evidence-russian-collusion-denounces-durham-report-flawed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told\u00a0<\/a>Meet The Press\u00a0in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is a criminal\u2026 and Adam Schiff; you will be held accountable,\u201d Luna told Fox News weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p>She went on to reference his claims of seeing a \u201csmoking gun\u201d that never materialized. \u201cAnd yet, he was privileged to information that not even I or many of my colleagues would be able to see,\u201d Luna went on to say. \u201cHe used that position.
