A Fox News segment went off the rails when several co-hosts got into a heated debate over former President Donald Trump\u2019s arraignment.<\/p>\n
During a segment on \u201cThe Five,\u201d the table discussed Trump\u2019s appearance in Miami for his arraignment in the case brought against him by Special Counsel Jack Smith, who was appointed by Biden\u2019s Department of Justice. Trump pleaded \u201cnot guilty\u201d through his attorneys in federal court.<\/p>\n
The federal judge granted Trump a pretrial release with no special conditions except no contact with witnesses.\u00a0Smith has charged Trump with 37 counts related to his handling of classified documents. If he is found guilty on all counts, Trump \u2014 who is President Joe Biden\u2019s chief rival in next year\u2019s presidential election \u2014 could face decades in prison.<\/p>\n
The conversation on \u201cThe Five\u201d heated up almost immediately when Tarlov, a known liberal, cited Hillary Clinton\u2019s claim that the Republican Party has become a \u201ccult.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t think it\u2019s a cult but I think that Donald Trump holds an almost mystical level of power and control over a large swath of the Republican base and they are immune to taking in new information, new negative information, new dangerous information, new potentially criminal information about him,\u201d Tarlov said.<\/p>\n
Tarlov continued: \u201cThe Presidential Records Act, and Andy McCarthy was talking about this earlier, it doesn\u2019t apply to agency documents. So the way that people are using this to say \u2014 I think you said it yesterday, Jesse \u2014 \u2018Oh, you know, he\u2019s allowed to do this\u2019\u2026 He\u2019s not allowed to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cGood argument,\u201d Watters sarcastically said while smirking.<\/p>\n
Tarlov shot back, \u201cYeah, it is a good argument that he\u2019s not allowed to have those documents. He can\u2019t decide when he declassifies them. He admitted that on tape, which is going to be a huge piece of evidence in this, so stop using the Presidential Records Act.\u201d<\/p>\n
Things got heated quickly and led to Watters declaring, \u201cI will use that act whenever I damn well please!\u201d to which Tarlov replied, \u201cWell, continue to do it inaccurately.\u201d<\/p>\n
Watters remarked, \u201cI am glad I printed it out! Thank God I printed it out \u2019cause I\u2019m about to smack you with the act in a second.\u201d<\/p>\n
