Joe Rogan called Dylan Mulvaney an \u201cattention whore\u201d who is \u201cmentally ill\u201d in his latest commentary on Bud Light\u2019s plummeting sales.<\/p>\n
Bud Light has been the subject of a months-long boycott and bad publicity after the company launched a promotional can featuring transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney. The brand has continued to tank with no end on the horizon, with holiday weekends\u00a0failing to provide<\/a>\u00a0any relief.<\/p>\n Leading up to the extended July 4 weekend, Bud Light\u2019s sales\u00a0were down<\/a>\u00a027.9% in the week ending June 24. Bud Light has even\u00a0lost its spot<\/a>\u00a0as America\u2019s most popular beer brand, losing out to Modelo Especial.<\/p>\n Mulvaney recently commented on the ongoing saga in a video statement in which he said the \u201ctransphobia\u201d and \u201chate\u201d directed his way has become too much to handle. \u201c[W]hat transpired from that video was more bullying and transphobia than I could have ever imagined. And I should have made this video months ago, but I didn\u2019t, \u201cMulvaney said. \u201cAnd I was scared.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cFor months now, I\u2019ve been scared to leave my house. I have been ridiculed in public. I\u2019ve been followed,\u201d the transgender activist continued while holding back tears. \u201cI have felt a loneliness that I wouldn\u2019t wish on anyone. And I\u2019m not telling you this because I want your pity. I am telling you this because if this is my experience from a very privileged perspective, know that it is much, much worse for other trans people.\u201d<\/p>\n Joe Rogan reacted to Mulvaney\u2019s monologue in a recent episode of the\u00a0Joe Rogan Experience<\/em>, calling him \u201cmentally ill.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThe only time [capital] respects opinions is when people boycott s**t and it works, like this Bud Light thing, and now people are like, \u2018Don\u2019t do that again,\u2019\u201d Rogan\u00a0said<\/a>. \u201cBe careful, because look what happened to Bud Light.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWho controls Bud Light? That\u2019s the question,\u201d rapper Ice Cube replied. \u201cWhy would they make a dumb decision like that? Are they trying to ruin Bud Light? Are they trying to take down some of our most iconic American brands?\u201d he added.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s scores,\u201d Rogan continued. \u201cThe ESG score of the corporation determines what you get. The problem is also you get these people who are coming out of college, like this lady who made the decision for Bud Light.
