{"id":3152,"date":"2023-07-09T00:11:48","date_gmt":"2023-07-09T00:11:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailynewsintime.net\/?p=3152"},"modified":"2023-07-09T00:11:48","modified_gmt":"2023-07-09T00:11:48","slug":"cheating-elon-musk-sends-letter-to-meta-after-discovering-their-dirty-trick","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailynewsintime.net\/index.php\/2023\/07\/09\/cheating-elon-musk-sends-letter-to-meta-after-discovering-their-dirty-trick\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Cheating\u2019: Elon Musk Sends Letter to Meta After Discovering Their Dirty Trick"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a strongly worded letter from Elon Musk\u2019s attorney, Alex Spiro, Twitter has threatened to sue Meta for its alleged \u201csystematic, willful and unlawful misappropriation\u201d of intellectual property.<\/p>\n<p>The letter, dated July 5 and addressed directly to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, argues that \u201cdozens\u201d of former Twitter employees now working for Meta \u201cretained Twitter documents and electronic devices\u201d and used them illegally to create Threads, a \u201ccopycat\u201d app launched earlier this week.<\/p>\n<p>The letter also detailed a prohibition found in Twitter\u2019s \u201cterms of service\u201d against \u201ccrawling or scraping of Twitter\u2019s followers or following data, implying that Twitter knew or at least suspected that Meta had engaged in such activity.<\/p>\n<p>The letter demanded that Meta \u201ctake immediate steps to stop using any Twitter trade secrets or other highly confidential information,\u201d and included language implying a civil suit would be forthcoming if Meta failed to meet that demand.<\/p>\n<p>Musk summed up the company\u2019s position in a tweet Thursday afternoon: \u201cCompetition is fine, cheating is not.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-158\" src=\"https:\/\/breakingnewspapers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/image-40.png\" sizes=\"(max-width: 539px) 100vw, 539px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/breakingnewspapers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/image-40.png 539w, https:\/\/breakingnewspapers.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/image-40-279x300.png 279w\" alt=\"\" width=\"539\" height=\"579\" \/><\/figure>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">NEWS: Twitter is threatening to sue Meta over &quot;systematic, willful and unlawful misappropriation&quot;
