However, while she was reading, the board cut her mic for being too \u201cobscene.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A video has gone viral not only for exposing the sexually graphic material schools are promoting to children but also for the lengths to which elected officials are going to keep this knowledge from parents. The footage from a public meeting in Nevada has caused outrage and concern. Still, the district refuses to address the issue and has instead deflected it,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theblaze.com\/news\/mother-mic-cut-at-school-board-meeting\">The Blaze<\/a>\u00a0reported.<\/p>\n<p>The uproar began during a Clark County School District (CCSD) meeting, which was open to the public. At the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ClarkCountySchoolDistrict\/videos\/1041510420077017\/\">17-minute mark<\/a>, Kandra Evans takes the podium to address the forum. However, she had only gotten through the first few lines of the alleged lesson when officials determined the curriculum was too disgusting to be read in public.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>\u201cThis will be horrifying for me to read to you, but that will give you perspective on how [my daughter] must have felt when her teacher required her to memorize this and to act it out in front of her entire class,\u201d Kandra Evans said prior to reading from her daughter\u2019s alleged assignment, according to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.8newsnow.com\/news\/local-news\/its-just-that-i-dont-like-d-las-vegas-mother-says-teen-told-to-read-explicit-content-in-class\/\">KLAS-TV<\/a>. She then read from the alleged assignment sheet, which said: \u201cI don\u2019t love you. It\u2019s not you. It\u2019s just that I don\u2019t like your d**k \u2014 or any d**k in that case.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>At this point, Evans\u2019 mic was cut. The board scrambled to regain control, glancing around at each other until the chairwoman finally spoke up.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>\u201cForgive me, we\u2019re not using profanity,\u201d the chairwoman said as Evans\u2019 microphone went silent.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"CCSD May 12 Meeting\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/B7wn5xB-fq8?feature=oembed\" width=\"1170\" height=\"658\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Ironically, the board found the alleged assignment too obscene for adults to hear. However, they refused to address the fact that the lesson was given to children to \u201cmemorize\u201d and \u201cact out,\u201d Evans claims.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>\u201cThe teacher required my daughter to read this pornographic material,\u201d Evans shot back before she was once again interrupted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you don\u2019t want me to read it to you, what was it like for my 15-year-old daughter to have to memorize pornographic material?\u201d she argued before her microphone appeared to be muted once again.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>When her mic was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/taphaps.com\/kara-bell-school-book-23b\/\">reactivated<\/a>, Evans pointed out the hypocrisy, arguing that \u201cadults can\u2019t handle hearing this content, yet they readily give it to kids in school.\u201d As the other attendees grew restless, the board granted Evans the rest of her time.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>\u201cI ask you simply \u2014 this is a public meeting. (Photo Credit:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/watch\/live\/?ref=watch_permalink&amp;v=1041510420077017\">Screenshot<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>When the school board again allowed Evans to speak, she put the final nail in the coffin, citing a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.shouselaw.com\/nv\/defense\/nrs\/200-710-production-of-child-pornography\/\">Nevada law<\/a>\u00a0concerning minors and sexually explicit materials.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>\u201cWe have pornography laws for minors in this state, and many of those violated because of this assignment,\u201d Evans said. \u201cIt states, \u2018It is a crime when a person knowingly uses, encourages, entices, or permits a minor to be the subject of a sexual portrayal in a performance.\u2019 In one of my meetings with the school administration, they blamed my daughter for not saying no to the assignment. They blamed my daughter, who is the victim.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Evans says the school suggested that her daughter was at fault for not declining to participate in the assignment. CCSD officials released a statement promising to investigate the circumstances surrounding the assignment, but parents weren\u2019t holding out hope that anything would be done.<\/p>\n<p>The incident is merely a drop in the bucket of alleged sexually charged\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/taphaps.com\/jonathan-koeppel-infinite-genders\/\">curricula<\/a>\u00a0that have been approved and adopted by schools across the nation. Parents are attempting to bail water out of a ship that is already sinking.
