Ana Navarro, a co-host of the talk show \u201cThe View\u201d made some interesting remarks about what she does when in Florida or near Governor Ron DeSantis (R). During her dialogue, she said \u201cIt wasn\u2019t me in New Hampshire screaming \u2018We say gay\u2019 \u2013 though I wish I would have. I try to do it anytime I am anywhere near Ron DeSantis or any of his people. I go around like a dog in Florida with my head outside of my car [shouting] \u2018We say gay!\u2019; \u2018We say gay!\u2019; \u2018We say gay!’\u201d<\/p>\n
Navarro\u2019s bizarre statement was applauded by the audience.<\/p>\n
The entire segment was captured in a video in a tweet by Greg Price who wrote \u201cNavarro: \u201cI go around like a dog in Florida with my head outside of my car. We say gay! We say gay! We say gay!\u201d\u201d<\/p>\n
Navarro\u2019s comments about \u201cWe say gay\u201d were made in reference to the Parental Rights in Education Bill (and now law) in Florida\u00a0that prohibits<\/a>\u00a0\u201c[c]lassroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in kindergarten through grade 3 or in a manner that is not age appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students.\u201d This law that was\u00a0signed by the Republican governor<\/a>\u00a0was dubbed by its opponents the \u201cDon\u2019t Say Gay\u201d bill. The word \u201cgay\u201d (or homosexual) is not mentioned once in the bill.<\/p>\n The View has been broadcasting\u00a0since 1997<\/a>\u00a0and has had its fair share of entertaining moments. For instance, when Meghan McCain returned to the show from maternity leave and got into a dispute with Joy Behar about politics, sparks flew. Meghan said that Joy must have missed her when she was on maternity leave to which Joy Behar responded, \u201cI did not. I did not miss you.
