Ten years ago, Garth Brooks started an annual Labor Day tradition: The \u201cCountry Legends\u201d show. Every year, a dozen or more of the biggest names in the business travel to a different city and entertain country fans for more than 12 hours.<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s show, scheduled for Hambriston, Texas, will go on as scheduled with one major change: Garth Brooks isn\u2019t invited.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was his idea, but he doesn\u2019t own the tour,\u201d said show manager Joe Barron, \u201cthe decision-makers don\u2019t want the same thing to happen at this show that happened the last time.<\/p>\n
Brooks was recently booed offstage at the 123rd Texas Country Jamboree, also hosted in Hambriston.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur town has gotten a lot of publicity lately, said Town Selectman Art Tubolls, \u201cwe don\u2019t have much here, but we do have a beautiful stadium.\u201d<\/p>\n
Brooks refused our request for comment, telling this reporter that \u201cit\u2019s becoming a little bit much at this point. You guys are writing a new one of these every day now.\u201d<\/p>\n
