Jason Aldean just rolled out his powerful new song, \u201cTry That in a Small Town,\u201d and the predictable reactions resulted. On one hand, theleft went absolutely berserk and CMT canceled it<\/a>while otherssmeared it as being \u201cpro-lynching,\u201d<\/a>a claim that Aldeandefinitively denied<\/a>on social media. And while those types lost it, conservatives loved the song and sent it to #1 on the iTunes charts.<\/p>\n

That stuck it ahead of the pop culture music that typically does far better than country, such as rap and Taylor Swift\u2019s pop songs, and stuck it ahead ofthe Morgan Wallen and Luke Combs songs<\/a>that did so well recently, particularly Wallen\u2019s red-hot \u201cLast Night.\u201d Here\u2019s the iTunes chart, with Aldean\u2019s song in the top spot:<\/p>\n

And in addition to the song charts, it has topped the music video charts, as can be seen here:<\/p>\n

Helping the song rocket to the top is that it, like \u201cBoycott Target,\u201d has become part of the culture war fight. Conservative Twitter personality Collin Rugg, for instance, tweeted about the song after CMT decided to pull the music video that was performing so well.<\/p>\n

Rugg, tweeting about the matter, noted the hypocrisy in how the pro-America song is being treated and how extremely graphic and violent rap music is often treated. He said, \u201cNEW: Country Music Television has pulled Jason Aldean\u2019s music video \u2018Try That In A Small Town\u2019 in response to media outrage. In the music video, Aldean calls out left-wing violence, specifically violence against law enforcement. Apparently this is \u2018controversial\u2019 and hateful according to the left. \u201cSucker punch somebody on a sidewalk, carjack an old lady at a red light. Pull a gun on the owner of a liquor store. Ya think it\u2019s cool, well, act a fool if ya like. Cuss out a cop, spit in his face. Stomp on the flag and light it up. Yeah, ya think you\u2019re tough,\u201d the lyrics read. \u201cWell, try that in a small town. See how far ya make it down the road.\u201d Rapping about drugs and murdering people: Singing about standing up to lawlessness:<\/em><\/p>\n
