FollowingJason Aldean, who sounded off on the backlash against his \u201cTry That In a Small Town\u201d during a concert<\/a>over the weekend, conservative country star Brantley Gilbert ripped into Aldean\u2019s critics and stood up for the message of and impulse behind Aldean\u2019s hit, new song.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the controversy and the sad state of modern-day America, Gilbert blasted the softness of the current world and the liberality with which those who would never stand up for something in person hurl insults and epithets online, safe from any real consequences for their smears and slanders.<\/p>\n

He said:\u00a0\u201cSociety these days I don\u2019t much understand and don\u2019t much give a s*** too. One of my many pet peeves is the fact that we live in a society nowadays when people don\u2019t get punched in the face anymore. Just a bunch of keyboard warriors hiding behind a cell phone and laptops talking a bunch of s***.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

Continuing, Gilbert turned from general softness to the anti-Aldean media blitz, saying that he didn\u2019t tweet about it because he\u2019s far distanced from social media and so he wrote a song about it instead. In his words:\u00a0\u201cSo I got mad as hell the other day over this [Jason] Aldean thing. I thought I was gonna tweet something, and I realized that I don\u2019t have the password for any of my social media. So I decided to write them son\u2019 b****** a song I hope y\u2019all like it.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

The new song Gilbert unveiled was one he called \u201cBury Me Upside Down,\u201d in which the chorus goes \u201cbury me upside down so the world can kiss my a**.\u201d Predictably, the crowd loved it and joined in singing with Gilbert that the woke world can do exactly that.<\/p>\n

Conservative Twitter maestro Collin Rugg posted a video of Gilbert\u2019s song and message with his own comments on the matter, saying, \u201cNEW: Country music star Brantley Gilbert says the Jason Aldean backlash made him \u201cmad as hell\u201d as he strongly defended Aldean during a recent concert.
