Political and cultural commentator Megyn Kellycriticized<\/a>the media and sports world for celebrating 32-year-old Breanna Gill, who won the Australian Women\u2019s Classic professional golf tournament.<\/p>\n

Numerous major media outletsfailed<\/a>to note Gill\u2019s transgender status as controversy swirls about the physical advantages of biological males.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a biological man,\u201d Kellyresponded<\/a>bluntly. \u201cA fact not even mentioned in much of the major press coverage celebrating \u2018her\u2019 win over the actual women in this tournament.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a fraud, it\u2019s immoral, and it HAS TO STOP,\u201d Kelly argued.<\/p>\n

Kellynoted<\/a>that the WPGA Australia\u2019s report made no mention of Gill\u2019s transgender identification.<\/p>\n

Reacting to the victory, Gill said, \u201cI always thought in my head if I ever got the opportunity to actually win a golf tournament and the girls happen to come running out on the green, I was going to stand there and take it. I wasn\u2019t going to run away.\u201d<\/p>\n

Former NCAA swim star Riley Gaines also shared her thoughts on social media by tweeting, \u201cWho\u2019s surprised a male is being recognized as the \u2018winner\u2019 in the women\u2019s category.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cGill\u2019s victory opened up the transgender debate in golf, with a viral tweet from the Women\u2019s PGA Tour of Australasia showing Gill with the trophy being viewed over seven million times before being deleted,\u201d the report noted. \u201cThe comments had been turned off but that didn\u2019t stop almost 3,000 quote tweets.\u201d<\/p>\n
