Whoopi Goldberg stunned audience members of \u2018The View\u2019 when the co-host walked off the stage during a live show this week, sparked by the controversy involving singer Miranda Lambert who stopped one of her recent concerts to scold music fans for taking selfies during the show. Of course, Whoopi Goldberg walked off as a joke and wasn\u2019t actually leaving the show, despite the wishes of many critics. For background, Miranda Lambert was in the debate spotlight after stopping her show just to yell at some fans who wanted selfies of their concert experience. Tickets for Miranda Lambert were probably more than just a few bucks and it\u2019s not uncommon for people to take photos at concerts to share on social media or keep for memories. The co-hosts of \u2018The View\u2019 were debating the situation with Miranda Lambert and if she should have stopped the show to yell at people, or if people should be taking selfies at shows, etc. It was a clouded mess of opinions that got Whoopi to stand up and walk towards the audience and say \u201cI\u2019m leaving y\u2019all.\u201d<\/p>\n
It was co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin who tried appealing to both sides of the argument when it came to debating Miranda Lambert\u2019s controversial situation. Griffin suggested that Lambert shouldn\u2019t be calling out anyone who paid good money to come see her in concert, as it\u2019s embarrassing to fans \u2013 especially if they\u2019re just taking selfies and not causing trouble for other fans. This is where Whoopi Goldberg chimes in, suggesting the fans are rude for taking selfies. Whoopi said: \u201cThey paid money for the tickets, they came to see her, so she\u2019s singing. [Give] at least a little respect \u2026 acknowledge that you can see her [and] she can see you too.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n Another host, Sara Haines, pointed out that the fans who were scolded by Miranda Lambert were sitting fairly close to the stage when the selfie incident took place, but did that mean the famous singer should be yelling at them and stopping the show and causing a scene? That\u2019s up for debate and Sunny Hostin implied that Miranda Lambert is in the wrong, according to an\u00a0article on Page Six<\/a>\u00a0who covered the Whoopi Goldberg walk off.<\/p>\n Page Six quoted Sunny Hostin who pointed out the price of the VIP tickets at the venue where the Miranda Lambert selfie scolding took place. \u201cThe expensive tickets in the VIP section that they were in are $757. I\u2019m gonna take as many selfies as I want if I paid $757, I\u2019m sorry, just me<\/em>.\u201d That sounds a bit much and in defense of the selfie-takers, if I paid that much for any concert, then you\u2019d better be darn sure I\u2019d have a few photos of the event. For that price, I\u2019d be taking as many photos as I want and no Miranda Lambert will be scolding me, that\u2019s for sure. I\u2019m on the \u201cI paid for this and I want a photo or two of it\u201d \u2013 but I wouldn\u2019t take selfies all night long, there\u2019s a limit and a difference. Take photos at the right time, enjoy the show and live IN the moment.
