A few days later, a gold box with her name and address is delivered to her house.
\nWe all know how useful it is for children to grow up with pets.<\/p>\n

They learn from a very young age to be responsible, to take care of someone else, while they also have a playmate – and this is even more important only for children.<\/p>\n

The 14-year-old dog was with the family for many years and eventually became a real family member.<\/p>\n

Ever since Meredith was born, they have always played together and developed a friendship that was special and unique.<\/p>\n

And that’s why when Abby got sick and died, Meredith was left heartbroken. She just couldn’t accept the fact that her best friend had left them forever.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe day after her death, my 4-year-old daughter Meredith cried and talked about how much she missed Abby,\u201d Meredith’s mom, Colleen, wrote in a Facebook post.<\/p>\n

Then they put the letter in an envelope, along with several stamps\u2013Meredith insisted that there be a lot of them, since this is a real trip to heaven-and mailed it.<\/p>\n

As for the address? It would be \u201cGod\/Heaven.\u201d<\/p>\n

A few days later, Meredith asked her parents if God had received her letter, and they could only reply that they assumed it.<\/p>\n

The parents of the little girl thought that this was the end of the story, but they were wrong.<\/p>\n

A few days later, Meredith received a gold box with her name and address on it. It looked like it was sent by God himself.
\nInside the box was Mr. Roger’s book \u201cWhen a Pet Dies,\u201d as well as a letter and a photograph that Meredith had sent.<\/p>\n

There was also another letter that Colleen read for her daughter.<\/p>\n

Abby arrived safely in heaven. Having a photo was a great help, and I recognized it right away.<\/p>\n

Abby’s not sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me, just as it remains in your heart. Abby loved being your dog. Since we don’t need our bodies in heaven, I don’t have pockets to store your photo, so I’m sending it back to you in this little book so that you can keep it and have something to remember.<\/p>\n
