Following the presidential elections in November, that Donald Trump won, President Biden\u2019s wife, Jill Biden, extended an invitation to Melania Trump for a customary White House tradition, but allegedly, the invite was declined.<\/p>\n
Speaking to the Washington Post, Jill Biden revealed that Melania \u201cbroke\u201d the long-standing tradition of the incoming and outgoing First Ladies having tea during the presidential transition.<\/p>\n
Jill then followed up with Melania Trump by sending a note through her husband when the two met at the reopening of the Notre Dame in December last year.<\/p>\n
\u201cI congratulated her and I offered help,\u201d Biden said in an interview with the Washington Post. \u201cWhat would be the point of nastiness?\u201d<\/p>\n
The two First Ladies eventually met at former President Jimmy Carter\u2019s state funeral on 9 January, with Jill confirming Melania thanked her \u201cduring pleasantries.\u201d<\/p>\n
In December 2024, Melania Trump appeared on \u201cFox & Friends\u201d and said that this time, the transition to the White House would be smoother.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe first time was challenging, we didn\u2019t have much of the information,\u201d she said. \u201cThe information was withheld from us by the previous administration,\u201d Melania continued. \u201cBut this time I have everything\u2026 it\u2019s a very different transition this time, second time around.\u201d<\/p>\n
Host Brian Kilmeade asked Melania if she\u2019d considered posing for magazine covers once she becomes First Lady again.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou\u2019re in the White House, and you\u2019re not on the cover of any of these magazines. Do you think that will change? And would you say yes to them \u2014 the Vogues, the Peoples, whatever?\u201d<\/p>\n
Melania, who used to be a model, answered, \u201cLook, I\u2019ve been there on the covers \u2014 on the cover of Vogue, on the covers of many magazines before.<\/p>\n
We have so many other important things to do than to be on the cover of any magazine.\u201d<\/p>\n
She added, \u201cI think that life would not change for anybody if I\u2019m on the cover.\u201d<\/p>\n
Some viewed this as a subtle remark aimed at Jill Biden, who was featured on the cover of Vogue Magazine in August.
