Hunter Metcalf choked back his tears as he explained the heartbreaking moment he desperately tried to stop the blood from gushing from the heart of his twin brother Austin, who was stabbed to death at a high school track meet.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On April 2, about 10 a.m., Hunter was with his twin brother Austin, a star athlete who was competing in discus throw and shot-put events at a track meet, held at the David Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco, Texas.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe did everything together. You name anything in the world, it\u2019s always us two. We were always basically one person,\u201d Hunter said of him and Austin, the football MVP for the team the two played.<\/p>\n

Hunter, born four minutes after Austin, explained that him and his twin \u2013 both juniors at Memorial High School outside Dallas \u2013 were in the school\u2019s tent when a student from another school decided to enter.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis kid was sitting under out tent at track, we asked him to move. He started getting aggressive and talking reckless and my brother stepped in and said, \u2018you need to move,\u2019\u201d Hunter told ABC affiliate\u00a0WFAA\u00a0in a heartbreaking interview. \u201cAnd he\u2019s like, \u2018Make me move.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018I tried to help him\u2019<\/h2>\n

According to a\u00a0witness, the other student \u2013 identified as Anthony Karmel from Centennial High School \u2013 told Austin, \u201ctouch me and see what happens.\u201d Then he allegedly reached into his \u00a0backpack and pulled out a black knife and\u00a0stabbed\u00a0the twin once in the chest before running away.<\/p>\n

\u201cI tried to whip around as fast as I could. I didn\u2019t see the stab\u2026but then I looked at my brother\u2026 and I\u2019m not going to talk about the rest. I tried to help him,\u201d a teary-eyed Hunter said, adding that tried to save his brother\u2019s life by stopping the blood.<\/p>\n

\u201cI tried to help him.\u201d<\/p>\n

He held his twin until first responders arrived and attempted resuscitation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey yanked me off him,\u201d Hunter said, who added he wasn\u2019t allowed to ride in the ambulance with his brother.<\/p>\n

The twin\u2019s dad, Jeff Metcalf, took Hunter to the hospital.<\/p>\n

\u2018Died in brothers arms\u2019<\/h2>\n

\u201cThey were twins, identical twins, and his brother was holding on to him, trying to make it stop bleeding, and he died in his brother\u2019s arms,\u201d Metcalf told\u00a0NBC\u00a0of his son, who he described on a\u00a0GoFundMe\u00a0campaign as \u201ca bright young man\u201d whose \u201csmile would light up the room.\u201d<\/p>\n

Metcalf continued, \u201cI rushed up there and I saw him on the gurney, and I could tell \u2013 they said he wasn\u2019t breathing. I could see all the blood, and I saw where the wound was, and I was very concerned, so I had to find his brother, and we rushed to the hospital\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite lifesaving measures by emergency personnel, Austin died of his injuries.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
