Tim Scott Uses the Gospel to Fire Back at Whoopi Goldberg

Republican Senator from South Carolina, Tim Scott, has officially thrown his hat into the ring for the GOP nomination in 2024. Scott joins Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy, former President Trump, Dallas businessman Ryan Binkley, Larry Elder, Asa Hutchinson, and Perry Johnson in his quest for the nomination. While a long shot, he is an interesting candidate. So much so the left is already throwing shade his way.

Scott, who is black, has a long list of accolades and qualifications. He is the first black senator elected in the South since Reconstruction – and the third overall, but apparently, in the eyes of the women on “The View,” that still doesn’t qualify him as a black Republican running for president. In fact, Whoopi Goldberg had some harsh criticism on The View last week.

Scott had some words in return for the ladies and their inflammatory, race-baiting rhetoric. More specifically, Scott had some Gospel for Whoopi and her cohorts.

Whoopi Goldberg likened Scott to Supreme Court Justice and fellow conservative Clarance Thomas, apparently for not being “black” by her definition and not toeing the preferred narrative for a black man. According to FoxNews:

On the left-leaning talk show, “The View” host Whoopi Goldberg suggested Scott has “Clarence Thomas syndrome.” Thomas, a conservative US Supreme Court justice from neighboring Georgia, has long been attacked by the left for not toeing what they believe is the proper jurisprudential line based on his skin color.

Goldberg’s co-host Sunny Hostin further claimed one of Scott’s “issues” is that he believes because he “made it” coming from an impoverished Black family in the South, “everyone can make it.”

America is a country where anyone can make it through hard work and a little luck. The left and the View would have you believe that black people are systemically oppressed, and Scott is an outlier because he indeed did work hard and made it.

Scott was having none of that, and he used the gospel in a scathing rebuke. He said:“Meekness is not weakness. I believe in the Gospel. I believe Matthew 5:44 says ‘Love your enemies’ — [but] if you break in my house, I also believe in the Second Amendment. We have to ignore the far left by disproving their lies by our actions. Here’s the funny thing: The host, Sunny, she wants to be judged by the content of her character, not the color of her skin. The fact of the matter is America is a story of evolution – a never told story of evolution in too many of our schools that are indoctrinating our kids instead of educating our kids.”

Scott finished off his rebuke with:“no question my life disproves the lies of the radical left” and their “culture of victimhood is eating away at the soul of America.”

Nothing galls the liberal left more than a minority who made it out and doesn’t praise the democratic party for lifting them up. The fact is, America is a place where Tim Scott and anyone of any color or orientation can work hard and succeed, not because of the color of their skin and a helping hand from leftists, but because of the effort they put in. This scares the hell out of the left. If more people listened to Tim Scott, they would stop believing that they are victims, and that would put liberals like The View out of business.
