Whoopi Goldberg has repeatedly found herself in hot water as co-host on the “The View,” and she was even suspended briefly by ABC.
Inside sources say Goldberg was “livid” after she was suspended and found it humiliating.
She even told co-workers that she has considered quitting the show altogether, according to a source who spoke with the New York Post.
“Her ego has been hurt, and she’s telling people she’s going to quit,” the source said. “Suspension from ‘The View’ is like getting suspended from Bravo. The bar is very low.”
According to source, Goldberg is humiliated enough that she may resign.
Goldberg has offered “half-apologies” over her offensive anti-Semitic remarks. She appears to reiterate the same remarks at later public appearances, proving she hasn’t learned her lesson despite the ABC suspension.
Her co-hosts have also expressed their frustration. “I love Whoopi Goldberg. I love ‘The View,’” Ana Navarro said.
“This was an incredibly unfortunate incident. Whoopi is a lifelong ally to the Jewish community. She is not an anti-Semite, period. I am sad. And I have nothing else to say.”
Known for her far-left politics, Goldberg pushed a false and disturbing lie about the Holocaust by claiming it “was not about race,” adding that it was “two white groups of people.”
In response, ABC News president Kim Godwin said, “Effective immediately, I am suspending Whoopi Goldberg for two weeks for her wrong and hurtful comments.”
“While Whoopi has apologized, I’ve asked her to take time to reflect and learn about the impact of her comments,” she added. “The entire ABC News organization stands in solidarity with our Jewish colleagues, friends and communities,” Godwin said.
Sources who spoke with Page Six at the NY Post revealed that employees and executives at ABC say Whoopi Goldberg is in “deep sh**.”
Insiders at Disney, which owns ABC, are reportedly furious over the remarks. Executives claim this controversy will not simply “blow over.”
“ABC staffers and Disney Network execs are saying Whoopi went way too far. And board members are not happy with her apology and want a fuller retraction. The word is that Whoopi is in ‘deep s–t,’” the ABC insider said.
“Why does Whoopi seemingly get a pass when others don’t? Perhaps this time she won’t. Many at the network — including her fellow hosts — believe Whoopi is too controversial now for the show,” the ABC insider continued.
“This will cast a shadow over everything for a while. Even Joy Behar was heard saying backstage that Whoopi is ‘dead wrong’ and may not ever recover from this,” the source said. “Joy found this particularly troubling and couldn’t believe Whoopi wouldn’t stand corrected until she was forced.”
